The factors to determine the internal diameter size of the corrugated box mainly are the maximum diameter size of the contents and the tolerance factor, the arrangement of the contents, the contents partition and buffer size. The inner diameter calculation by the following formula:

Xi= Xmaxnx+d(nx-1) +k'+T

Xi is the inner diameter of the corrugated box, Xmax is the maximum diameter size of the contents, d is the content quantities, k' is compensation amount of the internal diameter size of the corrugated box, T is caliper of the partition or buffer.

The manufacturing size can be calculated as:

X=Xi +t +k

X is the manufacturing size, Xi is the internal diameter size, t is the caliper of the corrugated cardboard, k is the correction factor.

The outside diameter size can be calculated as:

X0=X+K

The structural packaging design starts from the actual condition of the production and packaging, the design of the packaging form factor structure and internal accessories based on scientific principles. It must ensure that the structure of sufficient strength, hardness and resistance to every kinds of environment. We must consider the following two aspects for the packaging purposes, the one is the primary function of protection products, another is important feature to meet modern packaging, such as transportation, processing characteristics.
